We’re Building An Entire House in 24-Hours

24-Hour House (4)

One House. 24 Hours.

Yes, you read that right. HabiJax, in partnership with the Northeast Florida Builders Association (NEFBA), is building an entire house in only 24-hours!  As NEFBA’s annual President’s Project, the house will be built over the course of two, 12-hour days, with active construction from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Walls will be raised, a roof will be constructed, and a Jacksonville family will have a new high quality, affordable place to call home in New Town. The public is invited to stop by to see the progress–a tent and seating will be set-up nearby for viewing. And, don’t forget to check us out on Facebook and Twitter on October 14th and 15th for updates related to the 24-Hour House!

Help Us Raise More Walls!

We’re hoping that you can help us raise awareness around the urgent need for more affordable housing opportunities in Jacksonville. Too many families are in need of high quality, affordable housing. The 24-Hour House proves that it is possible to provide a timely response to the problem–but, we need your support to truly make a lasting impact. During the two-day event, we hope to raise $10,000 in support of affordable housing. Please consider helping us reach that goal–every dollar truly makes a difference! #10kin1day

How can you volunteer for The 24 hour house

Hi Travis! Thank you for your interest in volunteering with HabiJax for the 24-Hour House. Due to the expedited nature of the build, we will only be using licensed contractors on the October 14th and 15th build days. However, we need volunteers year-round and have construction opportunities Wednesday through Saturday each week. Please go to http://www.habijax.org/volunteer to sign-up, and contact Davetta Williams, Volunteer Manager for more information.
