Trailer Bridge, a freight service company headquartered in Jacksonville, kicked off a community give-back program in 2015. As part of the program, the group began volunteering with HabiJax in December 2015. They loved the experience so much, they’ve made volunteering with HabiJax an annual volunteer event!
Melissa, a Logistics Accounting Team Lead at Trailer Bridge, and her fellow volunteers say that their most notable HabiJax experience was that first time they volunteered in 2015. Despite it being a cold, misty day, they couldn’t have been happier. “We felt the event was not only well organized, but the energy that your representatives brought that day made it all the more amazing. And by the end of the day, there was tangible clear evidence that we had done something good for someone. We could see our work first hand (and we learned how to do it), plus we were able to meet the wonderful family that would live in the house we helped build.”
Trailer Bridge volunteers encourage others to volunteer with HabiJax. “Not only is it a phenomenal team building exercise, but you get to experience directly helping someone. Much different than giving money and not really seeing what is done with it, the HabiJax projects provide an opportunity for hard work, that’s good work, and you immediately see the impact you’re having. It doesn’t’ get any better than that!”
Melissa noted that at Trailer Bridge, they believe “great service starts with service to each other.” HabiJax is grateful for companies like Trailer Bridge that value serving the local community!
