Honoring the life of David Hicks

David Hicks changed the lives of so many families here in Jacksonville. After joining the HabiJax Board of Directors in 1995, David was personally instrumental for our expedited growth in building homes for low income families. A champion for affordable housing, he helped increase the awareness of the need for eliminating substandard housing and for the need to increase access to affordable homeownership. David also championed our utilization of the Community Contribution Tax Credit Program. His extraordinary service helped HabiJax grow to become the largest Habitat for Humanity affiliate in the nation, with nearly 2,300 homeownership opportunities provided. It is a privilege for us to continue the work he was so passionate about.

David and his wife Ann continue to generously support our neighborhood revitalization efforts as well as the Hicks Prep Club program.

We express our sincerest condolences to Ann and her family.
