Volunteer groups with companies across the First Coast do so much for HabiJax homeowners. A backbone of the volunteer power that builds safe and affordable homes in our community, companies also step up and contribute financially in ways that keep HabiJax serving more families, even as material costs have risen.

And, with so many groups returning year after year, we know that the Habitat for Humanity volunteer experience does so much for companies! Co-workers can get out of cubicles or remote work environments and sling paint side-by-side. Teamwork skills are honed, and the camaraderie developed on build day keeps on paying dividends for employee job satisfaction and productivity.

Questions about Volunteering

We accept all people regardless of ability or capability! We will work with you to accommodate your needs.

We accept volunteers ages 16 and up.

All volunteers must sign a waiver before participating. The waiver will be available online after registration, or sent via email to print and bring with you on your scheduled day. Minors (16 – 18) will need a waiver signed by a parent or guardian.

Volunteers help with all aspects of our mission! The following list is an example of typical tasks and may include other duties as needed.

  • Construction – Construction projects include house wrap, installing windows, hanging vinyl siding, painting and caulking and landscaping.
  • ReStore – Store operation tasks include loading and unloading items, organizing and tidying and assisting customers.

No experience is necessary to volunteer with us! You will receive a safety briefing and the tasks for the day at the site.
